One of my lifelong hobbies is comic books, and more specifically the original artwork that went into creating them.  It enticed me at an early age to appreciate the process starting from the pencils, inking and finally colors.  So much so that when I started making money I was able to obtain some pieces early on in my collecting life.
As I became experienced with video editing, videography and editing from my job at iBUYPOWER, I used this knowledge to create my own Youtube channel, Cantu Comics.
Being a very niche subject, I knew I had an uphill battle since the top original comic art youtube channels had a few thousand subscribers at the time.  From 2020 to early 2024, I posted 58 videos and a handful of shorts with about 15 of those over 1k views.  Subscriber count sits under 700 and actively gains followers organically despite not posting new content for a couple years.
In the beginning before having children, I was able to spend my free time focusing on the channel as the early videos had custom 3D video backgrounds.  Over time I upgraded the production value with better lenses, recording to Apple Pro Res Raw on external drives, green screen sets and OBS broadcasting.
When the kids are older I plan to come back to the channel with my new production assistants!

My contribution:
The entire channel was a one man show.  I created all graphics, logos, backgrounds, animations, scripting, acting, filming, lighting, editing, audio, posting and responding to comments, etc.
The 3D video elements were from a template licensed from Envato as well as audio used.
